The youth program at Salem Lutheran seeks to enrich the individual’s understanding of his or her role in the greater community through faithful, empathetic relationships with each other and the congregation. Faith and service are emphasized as we look to the diversity of passions, life stories, and goals found in our very community and the world as the ultimate model of the Body of Christ.

| …for the kids to understand the importance of
relationship with each other, their community, and their world as vital
parts of the body of Christ; |

| …to convey our love, support, and respect for each member of the youth community in order that they may feel welcome and appreciated, regardless of intellectual ability, physical appearance, or personality differences; | |
| …to convey a genuine desire to help each young person see the value within themselves and the abundance of gifts they bring into their communities and the world at large; | |
| …to instill in adolescent individuals within our community an understanding of and belief in the power of goals in their daily and future life; | |
| …to demonstrate through both our words and actions the respect for each other person embodied by Jesus Christ | |
| …to emphasize a biblical theology that understands voices of the past and people in the present as in conversation with one another in the pages of scripture. |
